SUBJECT: ACRIN 6668/RTOG 0235, Clarification

Clarification for RTOG institutions:

ACRIN 6668/RTOG 0235, “Positron Emission Tomography Pre- and Post-treatment Assessment For Locally Advanced Non-Small Cell Lung Carcinoma” was activated by ACRIN, the coordinating group, on March 1, 2005.

The protocol and all other information can be accessed via the RTOG web site, http://www.rtog.org/ (no password required). Clicking on the protocol number, “ACRIN 6668/RTOG 0235” will link to ACRIN’s web site. Or institutions can access ACRIN’s web site directly at http://www.acrin.org/6668_protocol.html

Patients are registered and forms submitted via ACRIN. Registration to ACRIN 6668 through the ACRIN web site will automatically trigger registration to RTOG 0235. RTOG will provide case credit and $2,000 case reimbursement, and ACRIN will provide $1000 case reimbursement. As a reminder, the two PET scans in this study are considered standard of care imaging for patients with advanced lung cancer and should be billed to patient's insurance.

As the coordinating group, ACRIN is responsible for all broadcasts regarding amendments, updates, etc. Once an RTOG institution submits IRB approval and other start up requirements and credentialing criteria are met, the institution is added to ACRIN’s distribution list for all announcements.

Questions and concerns should be directed to the ACRIN Protocol Coordinator, Irene Mahon, 215-574-3249, E-mail: imahon@phila.acr.org.

Web registration is available 24/7. Information and instructions are at https://silver1.phila.acr.org/Clinical_RTOG/pgIndex.html
